Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born 3 April , 1986) is an British singer-songwriter, actress as well as activist and performer. She was raised in London Borough of Islington and was a student at the Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis achieved national recognition by winning the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1 million and Syco music. The winner's song, a cover to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" reached first place for the duration of 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February 2007. Her success was further boosted by the release of her first studio album, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album of the 2000s and one of the most popular albums sold in UK chart record-setting. It is reported by the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the 21st-century's best-selling female debut album. The album's lead track, "Bleeding Love", spent seven weeks at number top in UK and was also the top-selling single of 2007. In the US, it was the top-selling single in 2008 . Lewis was proclaimed Best New Artist by Billboard that same year. She released Echo in 2009 and also released "I Love You" to be the film's theme song. In the year 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" as a collaborative effort with Swedish DJ Avicii along with her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) is Lewis the release of her 3rd studio album. It was Lewis' first venture into electronic dubstep and music. When she was on the Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material for her first Christmas album. Christmas, With Love came out later in the year and its lead single, "One More Sleep", peaked at number three on the charts in the UK. It led to Lewis to be the first British single female singer in the top fivespots with eight singles. She also overtook Olivia Newton-John's record for seven singles.
